As the world marks World Environment Day 2025, the urgent need for climate-conscious action is once again in sharp focus. Across the globe, governments, organisations, and businesses are reassessing their environmental responsibilities. In India, Gujarat-based KP Group stands out as a shining example of how businesses can align with environmental responsibility and champion sustainability while driving economic progress.
Clean Energy for a Clean Earth: KP Group Celebrates World Environment Day 2025
Established with a clear mission to accelerate clean energy adoption, KP Group has three listed companies: KPI Green Energy Ltd. and KP Energy Ltd. on both NSE and BSE, and KP Green Engineering Ltd. on the SME platform of BSE, have already commissioned over ~2 GW of solar, wind, and hybrid power projects, with a ~4 GW capacity currently under execution.
The Group has set an ambitious yet achievable target of 10 GW capacity by 2030, reinforcing its commitment to renewable energy and the environment. With a growing portfolio that includes solar parks and wind farms, and plans to enter green hydrogen, offshore, BESS & floating solar systems development, KP Group is playing a pivotal role in India’s green energy transition.
However, KP Group’s commitment extends far beyond energy generation. The Group is deeply invested in sustainable innovation. A shining example is the in-house robotic cleaning system for solar panels, developed by KPI Green OMS. Designed and produced entirely in-house, this system exemplifies KP Group’s engineering expertise and innovation leadership, supported by an active patent application. Currently, more than 180 robots are deployed across multiple utility-scale solar sites, ensuring consistent, dust-free module surfaces through fully automatic, waterless dry cleaning technology. These robots are equipped with smart obstacle handling, cloud-based control interfaces, and intelligent docking systems, allowing for seamless autonomous operation with minimal human intervention. In just two years, this innovation has saved over 4.81 crore litres of water and significantly reduced manual labour, especially in desert and remote locations. This solution not only improves solar plant efficiency but also aligns with KP Group’s vision of environmentally responsible operations.
At the same time, KP Group has taken significant steps to combat climate change through strategic carbon offsetting and ecological restoration initiatives. To date, the Group has successfully prevented over 5.5 million metric tonnes of carbon emissions—a climate impact equivalent to planting more than 260+ million trees. Additionally, KP Group has planted over 500,000 trees like mangroves, as part of its long-term afforestation efforts, and KP Group is also a member of Mangrove Society of India. Beyond these impressive figures, these actions reflect the Group’s enduring commitment to environmental stewardship and its deeply embedded culture of sustainability.
As we celebrate World Environment Day, KP Group recognises that the future depends on the actions and choices we make today. The Group continues to lead from the front by integrating sustainability into every aspect of its operations—from construction and maintenance to innovation and public outreach. Each initiative contributes not just to cleaner infrastructure but to a healthier, more resilient planet.
On World Environment Day 2025, KP Group renews its pledge to protect, preserve, and restore our planet. The road ahead demands collaboration, innovation, and determination. And with every unit of clean energy generated, every drop of water saved, and every tree planted, KP Group moves one step closer to making a greener tomorrow a reality.
