Once upon a time in 1994, on the bustling streets of Surat, a young man named Dr. Faruk G. Patel began a modest carting business with nothing but a dream — not of riches or fame, but of building something meaningful. What started as a humble venture, run with perseverance and grit, laid the cornerstone with an investment of 1 lakh for what the world now known as KP Group with Rs.133+ Billion business empire on the basis of market capitalization (228+ Billion as highest market capitalization).
The KP Group Legacy: Celebrating 31 Years of Vision, Growth, and Sustainability
With just 90 trucks, Dr. Faruk transformed KP Transport into the beating heart of Surat’s supply chain, bridging industries across cities of Gujarat. But he wasn’t done. Every milestone sparked a new ambition — transport turned into construction, and the company KP Buildcon was born. He wasn’t just building roads or towers; he was building trust, jobs, and dreams. Then came the telecom revolution. While others followed trends, Dr. Patel led them. When his idea of “One tower, multiple networks” was mocked, he built a prototype anyway. That one bold act didn’t just change business; it changed India’s telecom infrastructure forever, contributing to the success of the now-mighty Indus Towers — the world’s largest telecom tower company.
As India turned toward sustainability, so did KP Group. With a heart tuned to the future, he bet on green energy before it was a buzzword. In 2008, through KPI Green Energy and in 2010, with KP Energy, he started powering the nation with the sun and wind — not just lighting businesses but lighting hope. Today, KPI Green Energy and KP Energy are listed on NSE as well as BSE, while KP Green Engineering is on the SME Platform of BSE.
Through storms of doubt and seasons of setbacks, KP Group never stopped. It became Gujarat’s #1 Wind BOP provider, built Gujarat’s largest private solar park, to be installing Asia’s largest galvanization kettle, and conducted the biggest SME IPO in India’s history. The Group is first to install wind-turbine in South Gujarat.
Under the leadership of visionary Dr. Faruk G. Patel, in 2025, the group has grown to be of more than 43 entities and conglomerates, and they are not just in India — they’re going global. Today the group has a portfolio of 5.75+GW in renewable energy. With a Green Hydrogen pilot project and 2.6+ GW of renewable MoUs signed with various states of India, Dr. Patel is chasing a 10+ GW target for 2030, proving once again that size doesn’t define dreams — vision does.
अभी ना पूछो हमसे मंजिल कहाँ है, अभी तो हमने चलने का इरादा किया है,
ना हारे है ना हारेंगे कभी, ये किसी और से नहीं खुद से वादा किया है |
As the group has completed 31 years, it has become more mature, I hereby wish the entire group “Happy Anniversary” and also promise everyone that KP Group will keep aggressively achieving all it’s ambitious targets in future too.
